When triggered, the PIR will stay “high” for a certain time period determined by adjusting the po‐ tentiometer. Movement during this time won’t retrigger the PIR. Effectively, this second potenti‐ ometer controls the time-domain resolution of the PIR sensor. Also on the back is a small black jumper (top left on the back of the board), which determines whether the PIR is in “re-trigger” mode.

Connect the red trailing lead to the +ve (+5V) rail using a jumper wire, and the black trailing lead to the −ve (GND) rail using another jumper wire.
